Play the Caption Game

When you’re taking pictures of hundreds of trees for a bonsai website, it’s impossible to do justice to all of them, which is one reason to read the descriptions.  A great example of the reverse application of ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’ speaks directly to the question of scale.  When you only have one bonsai tree pictured against a backdrop, you can easily loose the scale and not realize just how impressive the tree really is.  A perfect example is in the picture of a one of a kind Dwarf Black Olive Bonsai at Zen Garden Bonsai.
